Meaning of the  Belt colours
 
To achive a Black belt the student must first pass a prelimianry test which is held at a normal grading under the local examiner before being approved to go forward  to the R.I.T.A Black belt grading exam board

Grading Criteria
  signifies innocence as that of a beginning student Who has no previous knowledge of  Taekwondo
  signifies the Earth from which the plant sprouts and takes root as th Taekwondo foundations are being laid
  signifies the plants growth as the Taekwondo skills begin to develop
  signifies the heaven towards which the plant matures into a towering tree as training in Taekwondo Progresses
  signifies danger, cautioning the student to excercise control and warning the opponent to stay away
  is the opposite of white, therefore signifying maturity and proficiency in Taekwondo. It also signifies the wearer's impervious to darkness and fear
